Was it only three months ago that I was asking Santa for Christmas presents? Because suddenly March has arrived and I’m welcoming the beginning of MONTHLONG birthday celebrations!
I will
always be grateful to my friend who taught me that you don’t haveta celebrate
your birthday just on the day it falls on but rather you are allowed to
celebrate your birthday for the whole MONTH! I thought that was a grand idea
and immediately adopted it; we’ll just ignore mean mother who sneers at me that
I’m just a greedy guts trying to find people to take me out for a meal because
if you ask me, I think going out for a meal is a GREAT way to celebrate your
birthday! Yeah, the way to my heart is through my stomach. Feed me and I will love
you forever. XD
Anyways,
come one, come all; here’s what I’m hoping to receive for my birthday month
this year:
(1)
Books
– in the two wishlists (the red squiggly line under this word tells me it
should really be two words: wish lists but personally I think that it looks
fine being just one word. That’s prolly why I was only an A- average for senior
English; nothing amazing XD) I put out every year asking for presents, books
will undoubtedly always be the first thing I’ll ask for. I’ve been an avid
reader ever since mother taught me how to read through a Little Golden Book
back when I was four and despite how shamefully slowly I read nowadays post
brain injury I’ll not let the cruel and unfaithful God take away my love of
reading also because hasn’t He, in His infinite cruelty, taken away more than
enough already?? >< My favourite genres are fantasy, science fiction and
historical fiction but I’m willing to give anything bar Mills and Boon a crack.
XD Actually, I thought Feist retired after publishing Magician’s End but turns
out he’s still writing and has published at least two books since; can someone
please get them for me?? Otherwise, going back to primary school faves, could
someone please get me the Black Stallion series by Walter Farley? Once I
discovered Black Beauty and The Silver Brumby, I found that this guy wrote an
awesome series too!
(2)
Teddy
– the other thing I’ll always ask for in my two wishlists every year. All my
teddies are loved and all are named (although I’ll confess to owning a John Doe
and a Jonh Doe 2 XD) and this year I’m looking for creative plushies! Nearing 1.5 years ago, someone bought me a
plush toy PEARL MILK TEA and this year I’ve challenged a writers group friend
to find me a plush VEB! For those of you unfamiliar with the movie series Guardians
Of The Galaxy, Veb’s this pink kinda-see-through blobby thing that’s obsessed
with holes and goes around asking everyone how many holes they have. I’ve never
invented anything in my life and know that I’m not creative enough to create
something but for some reason Google Image search doesn’t gimme any results
when I try and search for ‘plush Veb’? Anyways, my teddy family is always
looking for new members!
(3)
Outdoors
electric wheelchair – this can be the expensive thing I’m asking for. The
reason why I’ve been unable to go back to Hong Kong to visit all my beloved
family and awesome friends since 2012 (more than one DECADE ago ><) is
because mother and I stay with the older of her two younger sisters while in HK
who lives up the top of some steep hill. Now, while in my manual wheelchair, I
can wheel and steer myself around just fine (however slowly) provided it’s
along LEVEL GROUND; I’m not physically strong enough to wheel myself uphill.
When I was back in HK last, my dearest dad did that for me and as a result,
hurt his back. That’s when he decided I’d not return anymore; he’d take turns
with mother going back by themselves instead. Several years ago, when the NDIS
was first introduced, a church family friend who’s a physio by trade advised
the parents to get a new electric wheelchair for me, since the funding scheme
for the wheelchairs was ending. When the new electric wheelchair arrived, I
very excitedly asked mother was she gonna book our tickets back to HK like,
tonight?? See, with this fancy new electric wheelchair I wouldn’t need dad to
push me up the hill anymore; I could steer the joystick and drive myself! You
cannot believe how PISSED I was when mother very smugly told me that no, since
it’s an INDOORS electric wheelchair, you’re still stuck in Brisbane whilst your
dad and I take turns going back to HK ourselves. In that case, I’ve honestly
zero idea why she ordered that new electric wheelchair because it’s not like I
ever get to use it! Nope, it just sits uncharged and unloved in the driveway …
*sigh* Seriously, I’ve used it less times than the number of fingers I’ve got
on one hand, of that I’m certain. Actually, I’ll admit to not even having a clue
about how much one would cost but if they’re terribly expensive, maybe several
people could chip in together and get me one?? Honestly, almost more than
ANYTHING I wanna visit all my beloved family and awesome friends in HK again …
(4)
Pet
– yes, I will forever be horribly guilty of the manslaughter of poor Silver and
Bronze back in 2008 because I was unaware that goldfish are so pathetic they
require a heater in their fishtank to keep them warm during Winter but it’s
been more than 1.5 DECADES since they passed and surely I can be trusted with a
live pet again?? If not, then someone please remind Luke MacCourt that I’m
still waiting for my pet ROCK! When Luke first told me about them, I thought he
was just pulling my leg but outta curiosity I went home and Googled ‘pet rocks’
and there are actually entire WEBPAGES devoted to them! Like, they don’t need
food and water like live pets would, but you can give them things like
different textures to rest on! Luke, I know you’re very busy with being a dad
and all; your own dad even told me you’d made a start on my Minion-themed pet
rock by painting some rock yellow so hurry up and bring him over for my
birthday!! XD
(5)
Minions
– everyone who knows me must surely be aware of my obsession with these little
yellow jellybean-shaped, incredibly STUPID henchman from Despicable Me; what’s
not to love about them? Pretty sure my entire church family at BCAC –
particularly the littlelies – knows that Aunty Em loves the Minions, so should
you see any Minion merchandise somewhere, please get it for me! BA-NA-NA!! XD
(6)
Frosties
– since wishlists should always have at least one food item, I’m sticking with
my tried and trusted box of favourite unhealthy cereal to ask for. Mother
usually has me only having healthy cereals for breakfast – like Weet-Bix, Plus
and All-Bran but I like my share of unhealthy cereals too! Oh! Apart from
Frosties, will somebody please get me one box of WHITE CHOCOLATE Coco Pops?? At
the beginning of this year, mother lemme buy two boxes of TINY TEDDY cereal
(I’d only ever nibbled them as biscuit format during primary school) but after
I’d filled the bowl with milk I told mother that they don’t go ‘pop’ like Coco
Pops do. Her response? “That’s coz you’ve drowned the teddies.” O_O XD
(7)
Trenchcoat
(another word I reckon looks fine being joined despite the red squiggly line
underneath denoting otherwise XD) – I’ve never really been much for fashion.
Pre-brain injury I was the typical jeans and t-shirt girl. Come Winter that
became hoodies because I’m a COMPLETE cold frog and I truly HATES the cold!
>< I’ve always thought trenchcoats look cool so could someone please get
me one for my birthday this year and I’ll wear it during Winter?
(8)
Table
Tennis Paddle – last year, I started playing table tennis in the special
division, where everyone has some intellectual disability. I’m the only unlucky
sod that has a physical disability, too. >< *sigh* But the main thing’s I
can stay seated to play and it’s actually quite fun! I know jack-all about the
equipment but I’m wondering can anyone please get me a good-quality paddle and
stick a Minion over the top?? XD <3 the Minions! :D
(9)
Lifeline
– that’s the name of Westlife’s latest CD. I’ve been their diehard fan since
their inception and the year before suffering the blasted brain injury even
raced out to Queen Street Mall to meet them in PERSON but I missed out on their
one and only concert in Brisbane because even though Pole and I had brought
tickets and everything, chose when they were coming to collapse with a fricking
brain tumour! >< Even worse, Westlife took a break for like a DECADE and
now that they’re finally come back and recorded a new album and are embarking
on a new world tour, they’re not coming back to Brisbane!!! >< Someone
please get me their newest CD; better yet, make Westlife come back to Brisbane
for a concert and get me front row seats!!!
Lol, I’ve only come up
with nine things I’m after this year … guess I’m not overly materialistic?
Actually, think I prefer catching up with people over a meal to celebrate my
birthday but since the parents are prolly gonna ban me (mother especially weirdly
tries her hardest to keep me socially isolated?! >< *sigh*) from directly
asking anyone are they out for a meal to celebrate my birthday with, you’re
gonna haveta contact me first!
Also, I reserve the right
to add to this wishlist should other things I’m after suddenly pop into mind.
But for now, everybody scatter and get me birthday presents!
Cheers,
Em. ^^
P.S. Next post here … perhaps a movie
review?
